Conductivity liquid level switches
Conductivity level switches from VEGA offer
the simplest of solid-state level switching
technologies. It gives a straightforward
solution on basic applications such as level
switching on water handling systems ideal
in building management applications for
example. VEGAKON also has a technical “twist”
- utilising our admittance technology to
allow some systems to be used as a hygienic
level switch with a flush design which can
be used in pipework with conductive, adhesive
products, for example.
Whatever your requirement a VEGAKON conductivity
level switch has an answer - just ask
us for details.

VEGAKON conductivity level switches can
be side or top mounted, electrodes come
in stainless steel or high resistance Hastelloy
and can be cut to length by the customer
on site. Systems are generally unaffected
by temperature and pressure. Some have flush
hygienic electrodes and they use admittance
technology to ignore adhesive build up or
residue.

Conductive electrodes detect the level when
the electrode(s) is touched by the product.
A low, adjustable resistance, alternating
current flows between the “earth”
or “ground” and the probe. This
current is detected by the signal conditioning
instrument or compact instrument and processed
into a switching signal. The switch point
is determined by the length and mounting
position of the appropriate electrode. In
conductive vessels, the vessel wall forms
the ground electrode. In a plastic vessel
case, the conductive electrode consists
of one of the probes.
