Ultrasonic Measurement and Indicators.
As leaders in ultrasonic

VEGA offer a wide variety of VEGASON ultrasonic
level transmitters for measuring spans from
100mm up to 70m. This broad product range
provides users with an ideal model for each
application. Superior performance means significant
cost benefits for many ultrasonic level measurement
and indication applications where more powerful
transducer systems would normally be required.
VEGA ultrasonic level sensors use Echofox®
a dynamic signal processing software, proven
in use on almost 100,000 applications worldwide.
Even the lowest cost systems have this sophisticated
system to handle obstructions, agitator
blades and false signals for most ultrasonic
level measurement applications.
You can use ultrasonic level transmitters
to measure most liquids or solids for level
indication in storage or process applications,
at temperatures up to 150 degrees C and
pressures up to 3 bar. It's unaffected by
changes to product density, conductivity
and is temperature compensated for changes
in the speed of sound. It has built in linearisation
software to calculate the level versus shape
and provide a direct output of volume. VEGASON
ultrasonic level sensors can be used to
measure flow too; built in flow curves for
flumes, weirs and V notches provide direct
output of flow, without any need for additional
signal conditioners.

An ultrasonic piezo electric transducer
generates a short sound pulse, which is
transmitted to and reflected from a product
surface. The elapsed time period between
transmission and reception of the signal
- at the speed of sound - is measured and
calculated as a distance and computed into
level or volume. Signal processing software
analyses the echoes received to decide which
are obstructions or false signals and the
product level.
